My name is Aoife McElwain. I’m a certified life and career coach specialising in confidence, creativity, and craic.

I work with people who, like me, want to find out how to live their best lives everyday.

Alongside working as a life and business coach, I am a creative events planner, a writer, a food stylist, and a DJ.

I have worked with artists, accountants, chefs, nurses, music managers, personal trainers and interior designers to guide them through overcoming barriers in confidence, helping them to get unstuck, and to walk alongside them as they navigate change.

A Lil’ More About Me

I am a certified life and career coach with a Diploma in Personal and Business Coaching from the Irish Lifecoach Institute, an International Coaching Federation accredited course.

I’m the founder and Chief Craic Mechanic of Sing Along Social, a zero commitment choir designed for people who can not sing.

I’m the author of a book about burnout called Slow at Work: How to work less, achieve more, and regain your balance in an always on world, which was published by Gill Books in 2018.

I’m the food writer and food stylist for The Sunday Times’ Home supplement. I started a food blog in 2009 to learn how to cook and since then I have written about food for The Irish Times, The Irish Independent, The Guardian, and Totally Dublin. I co-founded the video recipe series www.forkful.tv and have worked as a food stylist across print, digital, and TV.

I am the Co-Director, Programme Curator and Community Manager of Turkfest, a community-led arts and music festival on a small island called Inishturk, home to 58 people, off the west coast of Ireland.

I am the founder and curator of slow:series, a talk series delving into different aspects of the slow movement.

I live in Connemara in the west of Ireland. One of my favourite things to do is spend time beside, in, or on the sea with my dog, Daffodil (Daffo for short).

Thank you to my friends Cliodhna Prendergast, Ruth Medjber, and Shane Serrano for capturing my work in such beautiful splendour through their photography.
